Love and Nihilism

They break. And you’re left wondering, screaming at the universe, what the hell was all of this for? Another life lesson that meant absolutely, nothing.

 Misquoted.
Lied to and lied on.
The devil’s in the details.
And everyone’s so called “good advice.”
Makes up your mind for you.
Your insecurities consume you,
because nothing is ever as it seems.

Love is like air, you’ve not seen it.
You’re only told it exists.
Love is like rain, you’ve felt it.
It pours, then evaporates.
It does not remain.
It does not stay the same.
And people are like trees,
they sway to and fro,
back and forth, not knowing which way to go.
Staying so strong, and yet so weak.
Branches come crashing down.
They break.
And you’re left wondering,
screaming at the universe,
what the hell was all of this for?
Another life lesson that
meant absolutely,
nothing.
